My name is Angelina Karaslavova and my devotion is Suggestopedia - but -“Suggestopedia With a System

For all my English speaking friends - here's the short presentation of my work as Prof. Dr. Georgi Lozanov's long year collaborator (1973 - 2012). I was a Suggestopedia teacher and author of English Suggesto-textbooks at the Lozanov Research Institute, as well as Suggestopedia-specialist and teacher-trainer, and founder of "Suggestopedia With a System".

Not long ago, - In Memoriam to Doctor Lozanov and following a promise I gave him once - I wrote the novel "The Doctor's Women", published in 2018 by WBB/Sofia.

It is a story about the life of the scientist Lozanov and the contribution of my early colleagues at the Research Institute of Suggestology who devoted their work to make Suggestopedia world famous, and - some of those who still develop it...

Here is my life-story in short: I was born years ago( in 1950) in Sofia/Bulgaria.

My earliest recalls bring me back to the magic of the Musical Theatre in Sofia, where my father worked and used to take me backstage to various musical performances and rehearsals.

Thus started my fascinating artistic experience with the majic of music and actors, and of Art…

I could learn English fluently at the First English Language College /Sofia.

Later I studied “English Philology and Pedagogy” at the Sofia State University.

I graduated with a successful Master (M.A.) diploma in Linguistic and Pedagogy –

“A Specialist in English Language and Teacher at Secondary Schools”, and Pedagogy.

Right after graduation I started my professional career at the original Suggestology Research Institute in Sofia, headed by

Prof . Dr. G. Lozanov, where - after having had passed numerous theoretical and practical exams - I became a Senior Research Suggestopedia teacher in English.

During the following 20 years, I worked there and developed my theoretical, practical and pedagogical knowledge in “Suggestopedia - Desuggestive Teaching,“ and especially in Reservopedia and Suggestosystem.

I also wrote numerous English textbooks under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Lozanov for Suggestopedic teaching and they all were successfully experimented in many intensive and specialized courses at the Institure.

Dr. Lozanov highly appreciated my contribution to the development of Suggestopedia and especially - to Suggesto-orchestration integrated in the textbooks and the way to put them in practice.

Later I was personally honoured by him with the “Lozanov Certificate of Suggestopedia Specialist” and as Certified Suggestopedia teacher and Master-trainer I continued to work with him on my project for Suggestopedia with a System.

I also became a member of the “Lozanov International Teaching Association” - LITA, the present - LITTA.

All through the years I have worked on the possibilities of finding some common points between the positive structural approaches of classical education and the innovative Suggestopedic artistic globality structured in a system.

I was fascinated by the idea to put the humane suggestopedic teaching techniques into a clear and easy to use, practical Suggesto-System, and to integrate the artistic wholeness within the structure of the contemporary educative systems - i.e.“to orchestrate” the suggestopedic artistic globality into a balanced didactic complex.

The Suggesto-System "A.V.I.C.S." was born.

What does it mean?

This is a Suggesto-teaching complex - "Audio-Visual-Interactive-Communicative-Suggestive-system", or A.V.I.C.S.

It was experimented and then - put into practice at the “Inter-AVICS-Consult”/FTO TECHNIKA”, Sofia/Bulgaria first in the early nineties; later it was updated and elaborated to meet the contemporary FLT criteria.

A.V.I.C.S. represents the unique concepts of the authentic Lozanov Suggestopedia integrated within the structure of some contemporary complex teaching systems - i.e. -“Suggestopedia With a System” .

Years of considerations, revisions and adaptations followed to revive the best of my original Suggestopedic Textbooks and to create the present Suggesto-Trilogy “Victory” for "Suggestopedia With a System" for harmonious Suggesto-education and Personality Development, including the 3 author’s inter-related bi-lingual Textbooks:

“Victory” I. - In Wonderland (First Level – Beginners) for “Education With Inspiration”

“Victory” II.- In Hopeland ( Second Level – Intermediate) for “Education With Expectation”

“Victory” III.- In Dreamland (Third Level – Advanced - Business /Art) for “Education With Admiration”

At the present I train and qualify Suggesto-teachers and work on the second part of my novel "The Doctor's Women",

in which new documentary book I'll try to make the ideas of Dr. Lozanov easier to follow...
